ALONG ARROYO BURRO CREEK

$500
SOLD

10  3/4"  x  16"
oil on panel

A new painting of a favorite place near my neighborhood--a creekside property just upstream from the recently-restored section of creek at Hendry's beach.

The national land preservation agency Trust for Public Land is working to raise the 4 million dollars necessary to purchase the property--which will then be turned over to the city of Santa Barbara to restore (the creek itself) and maintain for public use.

As part of this fundraising project, my colleagues in the Mesa Artists' Studio Tour  and I have decided to feature paintings of the property in our show this November, and to donate half the proceeds of sales to the Trust for Public Land.

This is a wonderful place, as you can see.  From the spot where I stood to paint it,  I can smell the ocean and (sometimes) hear the surf--yet the view inland jumps right over the city.  It's a wonderful example of the kinds of open space that are still there, thank goodness, to be protected.

So if you'd like to buy this painting, you'll contribute to several good causes at once; bringing art into your life, supporting me in the making of it, restoring creek habitat, and preserving open space for people to enjoy for all time to come.

                                           win/win!
